No.  I don't have a recovery disk.  I think I was supposed to burn a recovery disk.  I tried using system restore and to restore the factory defaults.  This is when I discovered that my problems were...

You can't use an OEM COA with a Retail DVD. Since you disk is still functioning, you should be able to use something like Ghost to copy the old hard drive to the new one.

OK.  That's what I needed to know.  I was concerned that I would be copying bad files.  If I do I probably would be able to fix the corrupted files with a working hard drive.  What do you think?

OK, thanks.  The recovery disc, so to speak, was on a second partition.  The only problem is that I think it is corrupt.  I may just try to ghost the partition that windows is on.  I think my easier...
